Lexus ES 300h Sedan Compared to The Lexus IS 300 Sedan
Compared to this, the 2021 Lexus IS 300 sedan has not changed too much since the last major change in 2014, despite which it still sells in good numbers. All the body panels though were completely changed in 2017. The lighting is more elegant than before, and it gets three separate LEDs at the front.
Exterior Appearance:
The Lexus ES 300h isn’t a brand new car as compared to its previous model, but simply gets a facelift. Its front and rear ends have been reworked and there have been substantial chassis changes. Its roofline sweeps back to showcase a fastback-type of design. Those looking for a car which is prestigious and fuel efficient should consider this.
The Lexus IS 300 looks more like a Porsche 911 from the rear, which is a good thing. It gets 18 inch wheels instead of the 17 inch alloys that were present before. Vehicle dimensions have also increased marginally. Five new exterior colors are available now, among which Grecian Water really stands out. Triple beam LED headlights alloy users to flash headlights like the ones on police cars.
Engine and Performance:
Lexus ES 300h gets the moniker “h” due to its hybrid powertrain. This is a 2.5 liter I4 engine with 131 kW of power and 221 Nm of torque, along with an electric motor that develops 88 kW of power and 202 Nm of torque. ES stands for “Elegant Sedan” here. The Nickel-Metal hydride battery is now under the rear seats instead of below the boot floor, where it ate into cargo space earlier.
The 2021 Lexus IS 300 gets a 3.5 liter V6 with 180 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed transmission, but 8-speed transmission can be found on the IS300 RWD (Rear Wheel Drive). Driving this vehicle is a lot of fun since its steering wheel provides great response. Ride and handling are as good as it can be. Several tweaks have been made to the suspension of this vehicle.
Interior Appearance:
Though LS 300h has been designed as a five-seater sedan, it is best suited for two persons at the rear. Legroom in the rear seat is pretty good, even for tall people. A Qi wireless charging pad and two USB charging points are present. Although the place is nice to sit, it just looks a little dated when compared to the competition. Rear headroom and legroom are more here than the ES 300h.
The Grecian Watercolor, along with the tan interiors, looks great as a combination on the 2021 Lexus IS 300. For the first time, this vehicle gets an 8 or 10 inch touchscreen, which can be operated through the central console. An analog clock is visible on the dashboard. Seats are richly contoured and are also very supportive. There is no option for wireless charging, and a CD player is present at the front.
