A child with special needs has the same potential as any other child. Luckily there are people who are trained to nurture that potential and give these kids exactly what they need to grow and evolve. One of these places is the Meyer Center for Special Children. Founded in 1954 by Dr. Leslie Meyer with one simple idea, that in the right environment, any child can learn. Now, nearly 70 years later, the Meyer Center is still dedicated to enriching the lives of children with disabilities and providing the right environment for them to reach their full potential.

The Meyer Center implements three essential practices to help their children. Education to teach these children the skills, patience, and encouragement every child needs to succeed; Therapy to help them overcome any obstacles in their path towards growth and provide them with a solid foundation on which to build; Hope to show them their potential is limitless. All of this and more has helped the Meyer Center teachers and therapists help these special children not only grow in today’s world but thrive.

They offer a multitude of programs, each catered to what the individual needs. From their Academic program to Music Therapy, these programs are designed to help each and every child develop the skills and make meaningful connections that they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. Prior to entering into our programs, each child undergoes an evaluation to determine their specific needs and focus areas. This dedication to the child’s individuality and unique needs is just one of many reasons we are so proud to be sponsors of The Meyer Center for Special Children.

Recently, the Meyer Center held their annual Kids Classic Golf Tournament on May 2nd at the Reserve at Lake Keowee. The tournament saw over 700 guests at their VIP Party and 528 golfers on 6 courses. They blew their goal out of the water with over $760,000 total raised for the center through the silent and live auctions offered during the tournament! We were very happy to be course sponsors for the 34th Kids Classic and are proud to be a part of such a successful event.

There are many ways for you to get involved with the Meyer Center from donating to their cause to becoming a member of impact. Impact is made up of volunteers who care about helping special needs children. You can learn more about impact and the events that are held throughout the year to benefit the children and organization by checking out their website! We are very excited to be sponsors of The Meyer Center and look forward to a long-lasting relationship!
